Teaching/Exhibitions

From 2008-2016 I taught classes at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts, in Minnesota. It began by teaching Summer Theatre Camp. Soon I was teaching a variety of classes from sculpture, drawing, painting to my own topics: EXTREME Papier Mache, Skatepark Design and Graffiti Arts. I’ve taught children, teens, seniors, adults and vulnerable adults, and helped Scouts get their badges in Theatre and Model Building.

The Minnetonka Center for the Arts works with many, many organizations as Partners in Art creating programs and exhibitions. My years doing outreach projects filled my life to the brim with joy. I learned from my students everyday that true learning never stops.

When I was in high school I attended a program called Urban Arts. Every afternoon I took a bus from my high school to the Children’s Theatre to spend the afternoon dancing, singing, doing vocal work, acting classes, and on Fridays- seeing performances. Art education changed my life and gave it meaning and direction.

My first teaching job was at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design back in 1985-1990. I taught Lens Media classes in the Foundation Program. It was an honor to teach at my alma mater. Many of my students surpassed my career and it’s a pleasure to see what they have achieved, where they have gone, and what they are creating.
